I watched Victory at Sea (available on youtube.com) while preparing this book. I recommend this to the reader who wishes to get a broader emotional experience of the war. Nearly everyone who prepared these histories and first read and watched them lost a relative to the war. I lost a brother and my wife lost an uncle. The anger and resentment bubbling up in every sentence and image is easy to understand.

What is the lesson?
1. Love of peace will not deflect a knife in the back.
2. There is always someone to invert the meaning of the Golden rule and the Ten Commandments.
