Acton Regional County Municipality, Quebec

Acton Regional County Municipality is located in Central Quebec. The Regional County Municipality Seat is Acton Vale.
Founded in 1982, the Acton Regional County Municipality is made up of eight smaller municipalities containing a little less than 16,000 people. The average population density is 27.4 per square kilometre. About half of the population is concentrated in the town of Acton Vale.[1]

The Acton Regional County Municipality uses the term "municipalité" (municipality) for each of its eight members[2]. The original terms "town", "village", "canton", and "parish" are still commonly used. Sometimes, unofficially, the word "town" or "village" may be used to describe the built-up area within the municipality.
