Arne Næss Centre of Ecology and Philosophy (ANCEP), located in Norway, is a Norwegian educational organisation aimed at Norwegian students. The goal of ANCEP is to spread knowledge and understanding of ecology, philosophy and non-violence.
In 2003 ANCEP changed its name to Gateway College because of financial problems. The institution has schools in the following locations: Bali, Mexico, Canada, London, New York, San Francisco, Cape Town. Owing to numerous complaints from the students attending the school in Cuba, during the autumn of 2003, it was temporarily closed.
Arne Næss is the ecologist and activist who founded the Deep Ecology movement. He is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Oslo.
Each year, any annual surplus resulting from the operation of the schools is donated to a charitable fund called THINK!.
