Barbara Haskell

Barbara Haskell (born 1946) is an American art historian.
She is currently an curator of painting and sculpture at the Whitney Museum of American Art, where she has worked since 1975. She is the author of numerous monographs and catalogues, primerily on subjects pertaining to american art between 1900 and 1960. She has written on Arthur Dove, Charles Demuth, Marsden Hartley, Joseph Stella, Milton Avery, Oscar Bluemner, Ellie Nadelman, Edward Steichen, Donald Judd, Ralston Crawford and Bourgoyne Diller. She is also the author of The American Century published by Norton in 2000 and the acclaimed Blam! a path-breaking monograph on pop and minimal art. She is the recipient of numerous awards.
