Ben Mulroney

Benedict "Ben" Mulroney (born March 9, 1976 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian television host.
He is the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and Mila Pivnicki. He has a law degree from Laval University and a history degree from Duke University.
Mulroney is best known as the host of Canadian Idol, the Canadian counterpart of Pop Idol and American Idol, and host of the CTV entertainment magazine eTalk Daily. Recently, he was appointed as the new National Ambassador for UNICEF Canada. From 2001 to 2002, he was entertainment reporter on CTV's Canada AM. Mulroney also wrote a regular column for the Toronto Sun, owned by Quebecor Inc., on whose Board of Directors his father was serving.
Mulroney was one of several children of former Prime Ministers who became Canadian media personalities between 1998 and 2001. The others include Catherine Clark, Justin Trudeau and Alexandre Trudeau. His performance as television host has received mixed reviews; he has even been compared by some long-time viewers and critics to 1970s and 1980s Canadian TV host Jim Perry.

- Has met Nelson Mandela, Boris Yeltsin, George W. Bush and has been to Buckingham Palace when his father was Prime Minister. He also makes frequent trips to Paris, where he has been spotted numerous times in the Bois de Boulogne.
- His father started to serve as Prime Minister of Canada when Mulroney was 8 and ended when he was 17.
- Mulroney parodied himself on an episode of Corner Gas entitled "Dog River Vice", and has a cameo appearance in the 2005 film, Fantastic Four.
- Mulroney is a chef and is rumoured to have been offered his own cooking show by CTV, likely to air during midday.
