Bill Brundige (born November 13, 1948 in Holyoke, Colorado) was a former defensive end for the Washington Redskins for eight seasons between 1970 and 1977. He is currently sixth on the Redskins all-time sack list. He played college football for Colorado after a senior season in which he was named first-team All-American in 1969 and was drafted in the second round of the 1970 NFL Draft by the Redskins.
Brundige is best known for blocking Garo Yepremian field goal attempt with less then 2 minutes left in Super Bowl VII. Yepremian managed to get to the ball before anyother player did and instead of just falling on the ball to preserve the Dolphins 14-0 lead, he picked it up and attempted to throw a pass. The ball slipped from his hands, Brudige tipped it and went right into the arms of Redskins cornerback Mike Bass, who returned it for a touchdown, it is considered as one of the greatest Super Bowl plays of all-time.
