Central Uruguay Railway Cricket Club, known as CURCC, was a sports club from Uruguay, founded on September 28th 1891 in Montevideo, the country´s capital. CURCC was the result of the decision of the british railway company in Uruguay to have a sports club. As a matter of fact, the colours of the club were inspired in the railway signs.
The club reached important achievements in the 1890´s and in the first decade of the twentieth century, but then entered in ostracism. This aspect is the cause of endless discussions between uruguayan sports fans: On one hand, those who claim that CURCC disappeared in 1915. On the other hand, those who claim that CURCC only changed its name and began to be known as C.A. Peñarol.
