Covoada

Covoada is a parish in the district of Ponta Delgada in the Azores. The population in 2001 is 1,259, its density is 126.9/km² and the area is 9.92 km². The farmlands are east of the parish in Arrifes. It is located in the western part of the island of São Miguel and is connected by roads linking Relva, Arrifes, Ponta Delgada and Feteiras. The mountains which are covered with lovely trees are to around Relva. The parish is waterlocked. The main industry are agriculture. Farmlands cover the valleys and while the mountainous areas dominate the rest of Covoada.
