[edit] Law and Government
Currituck County is a member of the Albemarle Commission regional council of governments.
There is a grassroots movement afoot to built a Mid-Currituck Bridge so that travelers will not have to go south until Southern Shores to reach Corolla. The trip currently forces one to drive in a "fish-hook" pattern to make the round trip through the county. The bridge would also make widening state Route 12 unnecessary.
