David Lepper

David Lepper (born 15 September 1945, Richmond-upon-Thames) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He has been Labour Co-operative member of Parliament for Brighton Pavilion since 1997.
Lepper was educated at the University of Kent where he took a degree in English and American literature. He also has a PGCE qualification from the University of Sussex and a Postgraduate Diploma in Film from the Polytechnic of Central London. Prior to his election to parliament Lepper worked as a secondary school English and Media Studies teacher at Westlain Grammar School and Falmer High School, both in Brighton. Lepper is married to Jeanne Stroud, they have one son and one daughter.
Lepper was the first Labour leader of Brighton Council, and Mayor in 1993-94.
In Parliament, Lepper has chaired the Broadcasting select committee.
Lepper supports the building of a new stadium for Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. in Falmer.
In the 2005 general election he survived a challenge by Keith Taylor, one of the principal speakers of the Green Party of England and Wales.
He has annouced that he'll stand down at the next General Election[1]
