[edit] Demerara (sugar) or Demerara Sugar?
Seems like maybe this article should be called "Demerara Sugar". Is it called just "Demerara" somewhere?
[edit] Conversion
I seem to recall Demerara Sugar being less sweet than granulated Cane sugar... anyone got a conversion?
[edit] "Sugar In The Raw"
I think "Sugar In The Raw" is a brand name for the same stuff, at least it sounds like it from the description. At least here in No. Cal., you find it in little packets on the tables of cafes & restaurants. Am I right? -Tzf 05:28, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
No. I think that "Sugar In the Raw" is lighter and dryer than Demerara. It's probably closer to Turbinado sugar (which has been centrifuged to remove most of the 'impurities'). -- [[1]Yep!] -- Darkonc 15:27, 3 Sept 2006(UTC)
One thing I found about this type of sugar, is that it never goes hard. No more sticking a slice of apple in it to keep it moist
