Gargoyles is a comic book produced by Slave Labor Graphics and Creature Comics starting in 2006. It continues the storyline of the animated television series Gargoyles and is written by series creator Greg Weisman.

Gargoyles #2 has been delayed until December 2006.[1] According to Slave Labor Graphics, the reason for the delay is that the art took longer to complete than anticipated.[2]

In June 2005, it was announced that a series of Disney-licensed, bi-monthly Gargoyles comic books would be created by Slave Labor Graphics in association with CreatureComics.com. Gargoyles #1 was released on June 21, 2006 and promptly sold out,^[1] ensuring a second printing.

SLG has a three-year license from Disney and president/owner Dan Vado has stated that license renewal is a definite possibility if the comic does well. Greg Guler, character designer for the original TV series, is involved in this project as well and is likely to produce the cover art for at least the first few issues of the series. The story art for the comic is primarily being produced by David Hedgecock.

The series is written by series creator Greg Weisman, who has suggested he will extend the continuity of the series, picking up at the end of season two and "ignoring" season three, The Goliath Chronicles, which he had almost no involvement in. The first two issues of the comic will translate the only third season episode Weisman considers to be canon, "The Journey" (which he wrote), with issue #3 beginning the new storyline. Weisman has also talked about possibly using the unpublished script he wrote for the Marvel series.
