[edit] History
Although starting in the Northern Junior "D" Hockey League in 1968, the Barons have been a dominate force in the Western Junior "C". The Barons dominated their league for almost a full decade in the late 1980s and early 1990s with at least 8 league championships. Also, in 1991 the Barons became the first and only team in the history of the Western Junior "C" to win the Clarence Schmalz Cup. Despite a fall off in success in the 2000s, the Barons are due for success. It is notable that the Barons, as well as the Kincardine Bulldogs and Wingham Ironmen, could probably survive at the Junior "B" level.
