Haruna (ハルナ Haruna?) is a fictional character who is the antagonist of the third Tenchi Muyo! movie, Tenchi Muyo! in Love 2: Haruka Naru Omoi (also known as Tenchi Forever).
Haruna was a former lover of Yosho, and the two had left Jurai for Earth to have a better life together, mostly because Haruna was not royalty and could not marry on Jurai. However, the journey was a difficult one, and Haruna had fallen ill as a result. Tragicly, she died just before they were to land on Earth.
Saddened by her loss, Yosho buried Haruna's body on the grounds of what would be the Masaki shirine, along with Haruna's tree, Camilia. When he became surprised that the tree had blossomed, Yosho had taken cuttings and planted them around Japan. It was on one of these journeys that he met his future wife Itsuki, for he would marry and have a daughter, Achika, and Achika in turn would give birth to Tenchi.
Somehow, Yosho's happiness had disturbed Haruna's spirit, feeling cheated from what she felt was her deserved happiness. So after Tenchi had gotten into another argument with Ryoko and Ayeka, he retreated into the woods near the shrine, where he encountered Camilia. There, Haruna's spirit tempted Tenchi to come to her, where she taken him to another dimension.
Once there, Tenchi was given an older form, and he and Haruna lived in a small apartment in Tokyo, where he was an art student. His memories of the past were blocked... but somehow one memory would surface... his memory of Ryoko, and he would try to paint her likeness. However, Haruna would see these and destroy the paintings, never wanting Tenchi to remember.
It was in time that Ryoko and Ayeka, with help from Washu, was able to locate the dimension Tenchi was held. Haruna was able to thwart their first effort, and Tenchi later, mostly because he did not want to see anyone hurt, which caused Ryoko much grief. However, after that, Tenchi forced Haruna to confront her past.
Meanwhile, Yosho, seeing the Camilia tree still blooming in fall, decided to destroy the tree and allow Haruna to rest. It was only then that Haruna finally acknowledged that she was wrong about taking Tenchi away and finally let him go. Ryoko, after being persuaded by Ayeka to do so, rescued Tenchi from Haruna's dimension when it collapsed upon her departure.
