I think the map on the left needs to be corrected: 1. At the point in time of this map (around 1947), Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were part of the USSR. 2. I don't think China has occupied Tibet yet at this time.
- You are right on both counts. Besides, no cities are shown outside of modern India, so the pre-partition map is incomplete. Valentinian (talk) 09:33, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- While you're definitely right on the first count, the second is more debatable. mgekelly 11:01, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
But this does not mean that Tibet, etc. were a part of British India. --Ujjwal Krishna 11:56, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sri Lanka
At the point in time of this map (around 1947) Sri Lanka was not part of India. The claim that Sri Lanka is historically a part of India is based on the fact that, Ceylon was part of Madras Presidency from 1795 until it was made a separate Crown Colony in 1798. Notably, during this period the entire island was not under British rule (that only happened in 1815).
[edit] Thailand
The maps both show parts of Thailand as being in British India (in the first case) and then in Myanmar (in the second). This is no good. mgekelly 11:00, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Inaccurate map
this map is inacurate, shows a large portion of pakistan in india, any one with a little geographic skills can verify this.
