Jini

Jini (pronounced like genie) is a network architecture for the construction of distributed systems.
Originally developed by Sun, responsibility for Jini is being given to Apache under a free licence.
Coming from Sun, attempts to deal with some of the Fallacies of Distributed Computing by attempting to have code mobility, non-Protocol dependance, resiliency, etc.
