Kendal Town F.C. is an English football club based in Kendal, Cumbria, and playing in the Northern Premier League Premier Division in the English football league system.
The club was nicknamed The Field, a reference to its former name, Netherfield AFC. Current supporters, however, tend to use the imaginative nickname "The Town". The team plays its home matches at the Planet Conservatories Stadium, Parkside Road.

The club was established at the end of the First World War as Netherfield AFC when the employees at the town shoe factory, the K Shoes Company, formed a football team. They played in the land near the factory, and the club ground is still located there.
1925 - Won the Westmorland County Cup
1945 - Turned semi-professional by joining the Lancashire Combination League
1949 - Won the Lancashire Combination Championship
1950 - Reached the second round of the FA Cup, playing Watford F.C.
1956 - Reached the first round stage of the FA Cup for the fifth time in eight years, a 5-1 loss to Grimsby Town F.C., watched by a record crowd of 5,000
1955-56 - Won the Combination Cup
1960-61 - Won the Combination Cup
1963-64 - Finished runners-up to Chorley F.C., as striker Tom Brownlee scored 76 goals
1964-65 - Won the Combination Championship Division 1 title. The club reserve team won the Division 2 Championship
1968 - One of the founder members of the Northern Premier League
1980 - Set a record along with Bridlington Town F.C. for the record number of cup ties replays, playing seven times before managing to win 2-0 to go up to the second round of the FA Trophy
1982 - Had to move to the North West Counties Football League Division One because of financial constraints
1987 - Moved into the newly formed League Division 1 of the Northern Premier League
1998 - Changed name to Netherfield Kendal
2000 - Changed name to Kendal Town FC
2003 - Reached the final of the Marsden Cup, losing 0-2 to Leigh RMI F.C.
2004-05 - Finished at fifth place in the league, 2-1 in the promotion play-off to AFC Telford
2005 - Awarded the Charter Standard status along with Wattsfield Youth FC
2006 - Promoted to the Unibond Premier League by virtue of finishing in third place in the league and subsequently winning the play-off final 2–1 over Gresley Rovers at home on 6 May 2006
