La Reina

La Reina (Spanish: the queen) is a municipality ("comuna") in Chile, part of the Santiago Province, in the Santiago Metropolitan Region.
The neighborhood, lying in the east of the Greater Santiago conurbation, is mainly residential and inhabited by mostly mid to upper-mid income families, with certain areas inhabited by low, mid-low and high-income groups. A small airport —Aerodrómo Eulogio Sánchez Errázuriz (better known as Tobalaba)— is located on the southern side.
La Reina has an area of 23.4 km², a population of 96,762 (2002 census) and an average household income of $66,162 in PPP US dollars (2000). It consistently ranks in the top five municipalities with the best quality of life in the Metropolitan Region.
