Longford Town F.C. is an Irish football club playing in the Football League of Ireland. The club, founded in 1924 and elected to the league in 1984, hails from Longford, County Longford and play their home matches at Flancare Park. Club colours are red and black, and the club goes by the nickname Town or De Town. The club asked Bohemians for permission to use these club colours in the year they were formed. The story goes that Longford didn´t have jerseys for their first game against Bohs and had to use their rivals spare (home) jerseys.
The club is managed by Alan Mathews with assistance from Aaron Callaghan.
