Lose My Breath was the first single from Destiny's Child's sixth album, Destiny Fulfilled. Released in 2004, it quickly entered the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100. The single peaked at number three on that chart, becoming Destiny's Child's ninth top ten single. The song also peaked at number three in Australia, and peaked at number two in the UK. The music video was nominated at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards in the Best Dance Video category. The song was also nominated for a Grammy award for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo Or Group.
In United Kingdom, "Lose My Breath" was beaten to the top of the singles chart by the Eminem single "Just Lose It" on the first week, U2's "Vertigo" the following week, and Girls Aloud's "I'll Stand by You" for further two weeks. However, it did spend a month at #2 and was certified silver by the BPI after selling 221,000 copies, performing better than these three singles which have kept "Lose My Breath" off the top position. It remained within the top ten for seven consecutive weeks and was one of the biggest hits of late 2004. "Lose My Breath" was certified double platinum by the RIAA for selling in excess of 400,000 digital downloads. It did however topped the singles chart in other European countries which were in Ireland and Switzerland. In Israel, it maintained at the number one position for an impressive fourteen weeks. Moreover, it was number one on the United World Tracks Charts for eleven weeks.

In this club-banger, Destiny's Child are requesting their dance partners, to make them lose their breath and ask if they can keep up with their dancing.

The video takes place in an alleyway, where the girls are having a dance off with the crowd and twin alternate versions of themselves. They get angry at there dance partners because there not showing the love that they give him. Thus the lyrics 'did'nt momma teach you to give affection.' At the final part of the music video the third replicas of destiny child come in and show that the others are nothing compared to them so make way. The editing and camera work includes a lot of fast cutting and sweeping shots. The shoot was covered on MTV's Making The Video. There are two different versions of this video containing some different shots and angles, but this version was only shown once on TRL as the world premiere.
