Miranda is a CityRail railway station on Sydney's Illawara line. It serves a residential area, and is located near the Sutherland Shire's main shopping centre (Westfield Shoppingtown Miranda, known locally as "Miranda Fair"). It has an island platform. The station is served by four trains per hour (two in the direction of Cronulla and two in the direction of the City) for most of the time, with additional trains at weekday peak hours.
Until recently, the station had a ramp connected to the streets on either side, and thus does not have Easy Access for wheelchairs. The station has since been renovated, with stair and lift access.
The station opened with the line in 1939, when the residential area was first being developed. The line through Miranda was single track at that time. The line was duplicated in about 1980.
