RE: Vandal IPAt User talk:165.247.83.151 you gave this anon the Template:test4 template. But he says he's already blocked. So I propose his talk page be semi-protected for a while. SWD316 talk to me 00:48, 22 January 2006 (UTC) I just saw Canderson7 semi=protect it. Never mind though. Sorry for the disturbance. SWD316 talk to me 00:49, 22 January 2006 (UTC) I thought that they might of been blocked but I warned them because when they are unblocked and in this case probably vandalise again the admin that blocks will see that they had vandalised one more time. Adam1213 22:09, 22 January 2006 (UTC) VandalismHah! :D — Ilyanep 00:54, 23 January 2006 (UTC) Re: Leaving?Well the funny thing is most things have been going my way in the Wikipedia community, its just the manner of how discussions are done (I've noticed especially since I became adminship) has left a lot to be desired. I still plan on using Wikipedia, just not as an editor, or at the very least I intend to take an extended Wiki-break. As well, I have found that in the week I was absent from Wikipedia, I was a lot more productive in the real world as well which most people would view to be more important, with the exception of some really hardcore Wikipedians. Also my frustrations were a steadily boiling pot that finally made me give up on it, at least for the time being. Thank you for trying to talk me out of it though. Re: Vandal.I blocked him a little earlier today :) Thanks, FireFox 16:58, 26 January 2006 Thanks
Clean-up questionI noticed you made this diff. Any reason you changed the n dashes to hypens? It's just I've been changing them in the opposite direction, which can't be very productive. Flowerparty 20:26, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Succesful RfA!
Awww!Any time, darling ;) I was telling nothing but the truth anyway! Btw, I saw your note at your page. In this dark moment, it may be hard for you to see the light that all those who love you shine on you. Never forget that there's a lot of people who care about you and your feelings. Many of us here do. Cheer up, my friend! Kisses, Phaedriel 00:02, 29 January 2006 (UTC) My Post on ANThanks for letting me know. --Shanel 02:55, 29 January 2006 (UTC) ThanksThanks for looking out for my talkpage, SWD316. --Bishonen 06:18, 29 January 2006 (UTC RE: Special:ListusersSounds like a good idea to me. Suggest it at the Village Pump and see what response you get. -- Celestianpower 16:18, 29 January 2006 (UTC) Listusers? No need to discuss it on-wiki, simply file a feature request on bugzilla and the developers will think about it. An Esperanzial noteAs I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2. In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{tl|EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Also see the proposed programs page for many new proposals and old ones that need more discussion ;) Other than that, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you an Esperanzially good new WikiYear :D Thank you! --Celestianpower 16:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC) re: Edit Counter..againI'm not sure I understand... are there problems seeing the popups? --Interiot 07:27, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
Another vandalIt looks like another vandal User:139.223.14.40 has started to revert pages again. This is another Turkish editor who it trying to evade his block. --Khoikhoi 18:45, 29 January 2006 (UTC) InannaHi, thanks for helping with Inanna's sockpuppets on TRNC and Turkish Cypriots. Inanna originally started editng Wikipedia by changing the numbers of all these articles to favour Turkey. After she got an account, she has been blocked a few times for violating the 3RR and now uses sockpuppets to avoid the policy. Her opinions on almost everything is the Turkish POV, and she has openly stated that she hates all Greeks (including poor me). She has also threated to hack people's computers. IMO the answer to this problem is: don't entertain her (ie don't revert her immediately, wait a couple of hours first, for her to get fed up and walk away from her PC). Also, I've been itching to nominate someone for adminship, I have asked many users and they have all declined. I notice that you seem to have ambitions in that direction, so if you like, I'll nominate you. Latinus 22:14, 29 January 2006 (UTC) I've never done this before - here goes: Latinus 22:52, 29 January 2006 (UTC) Don't forget to link to your previous RFAs, to answer the questions and to link your page to WP:RFA. Latinus 22:53, 29 January 2006 (UTC) You've been through three RFAs so far - it must be very stressful, how do you cope (with checking your watchlist every two minutes). Latinus 23:39, 29 January 2006 (UTC) No worriesHey, relax, I'm sure that wasn't really representative of your behaviour in general, and I'm sure you regret having said it and have learned from it. But it does suggest you need to chill out a bunch, really, practise chilling out, it's a valuable skill. Peace, Pete.Hurd 04:35, 30 January 2006 (UTC) Lo SientoI had to change my vote to oppose... I had not looked at the date of the diff...which unfortunately does bring the percentage to 63... Sorry. KI 16:34, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
Your Rfa
Your RfaDon't worry about it. You'll make it next time. --Anonymous editor 23:11, 30 January 2006 (UTC) EsperanzaHi SWD! You've left Esperanza :( Any reason why? Anything I can do to help you? Hope you're okay. Redvers 23:01, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
Please stay! Please, please reconsider your decision, SWD. A failed RfA can be a terrible experience, but you've gone through worse. Lots of us love you and value your contributions and your presence, whether you're an admin or not. Soon, sooner than you think, you'll get there - but please think that, where you're going, there's no turning back. Do you really want, when you inevitably return to WP and see how great it is, and miss your place here, look behind and think "Damn! I should have stayed..." and wish to return to this very moment and choose a different path? Please, don't make things more painful to you than they already are. Please stay! -Phaedriel 23:54, 30 January 2006 (UTC)Your RfAYou removed it before I got a chance to support you! No fair! Well, enjoy your break from Wikipedia, and whatever you are doing or wherever you are, I hope you're finding the solace you require. Cheers mate. -- Francs2000 00:11, 31 January 2006 (UTC) Your RfASame here, I was going to vote to support you. Btw, I figured out what SWD316 means: "Serving Wikipedia Diligently, 316 days a year." Now, those 49 remaining days off have to last you all year long - don't use them all up now ;-). NoSeptember 00:28, 31 January 2006 (UTC) Gasp!I understand if you HAVE to leave, (as in, God calling you to leave, see this), but I was just going to vote for you...*sigh* -- ViolinGirl 00:29, 31 January 2006 (UTC) Thank you for letting me know. I pray God leads you...ciao!--ViolinGirl 12:35, 1 February 2006 (UTC) ?Lucky I stole that fake message prank from you before you left.... Have a good one. But seriously, I'm sick of people up & leaving just cause they fail a few times on a stupid Adminship! I mean, c'mon, what does it really give you? Respect from people you'll never meet, a cleaning mop & better tools to go round wiping up other's messes on a virtual encyclopedia! It shouldn't be something that people leave over! Just cause only one person gets elected class president a year doesn't mean the rest of the school has to leave in a huff! I don't know you too well, but I don't want to see another great editor leave because of something as pathetic as a failed RfA. I mean, didn't you fail an RfA fpur times before? I'm amased you had the guts to stay that many times. Why leave now? It's not that anyone hates you cause you failed your RfA, nor are they saying that you're too stupid to pass a RfA, but they simply don't want you as an admin right now. I'm not gonna give you a mushy message or a barn star to make you stay, but I'm gonna say that you can either leave or stay. It's up to you. In the end, all we are is ourselves........ Spawn Man 00:48, 31 January 2006 (UTC) Welcoming comitteeOn behalf of the Welcoming committee I too ask you to stay (and come back to the Welcoming committee :) ). -Ravedave 04:26, 31 January 2006 (UTC) HeyHey, justwanted to let you know that I removed a nasty message that was left here. It's in the history, but don't worry, it was just a personal attack, nothing important. Anyways, you've been doing a real good job lately, and you keep showing up on my watchlist at WP:AN :). Keep up the good work, and I'll see you around. -- Sean Black 05:08, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Gone?I havent heard from you in a while, but I have stopped by to see how you are doing. I can fully understand, now, that after 4 rfas and RL problems (FWIW, I am feeling a little down for the selfsame reason as you) you're feeling down. I'm not going to beg you to stay, but I will say that your contributions were not wasted, and that you will be missed by many of us. So long, hopefully we'll be seeing you again sometime, my talk page is always open. Banes 06:52, 31 January 2006 (UTC) Leaving?????Please stay on Wikipedia. Don't really know you that well, but you are a great editor with 12, 000 edits. It is really a sad one of your departure from this project. Do come back when you wish. --Terenceong1992 11:29, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
HelloHi SWD316! Please dont be fool by the lies of Latinus about me.He is a greek and he hates all the Turks like me.Even i have never talked with him.I try to edit articles by resources and he changes all the time.I think wikipedia shouldnt be the place of propagandists.I am working for this and i am sure you try to do the best.Sorry about complaint...Sincerely -Inanna- Your wikiholic scoreI saw that you removed your score from the Top 20 because apparently other users think my Wikiholic score is fake so I'm removing it and reading the previous #20 "score". If you think that my comment on your RFA meant this, you're really wrong. What I meant was that I thought you were too infatuated with being No.1. I was not implying that I thought your score was fake. I'm sorry to hear you're leaving, and I hope that my comment did not play any part in this, because, I hope you know, I have a lot of respect for you and I think you're a great guy. -- May the Force be with you! Shreshth91 12:19, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
NOOO!!!Don't leave man! Who's gonna protect me when i get blocked because of my username!?! Besides, you're a real inspiration to the users on wiki, so why leave? You will get admin some day, but it's no reason to quit if you don't, just try harder next time ^_^ WoWjUnKiE7290 15:43, 31 January 2006 (UTC) Thank you!For your kind support of my Rfa, which passed. If you should ever have any complaints about my admin actions, please let me know. Also, should you ever need my help with anything, please do not hesitate to ask! Thanks again! All the best Banes 17:06, 1 February 2006 (UTC) P.S. I'm really glad to hear you are considering returning, you're right, we do care (eavedropper!). Cheers Is it true! All the rumors! Welcome back, dear SWD!Sweet SWD, these wonderful news have enlightened my day. Welcome back, and please, never, ever think again about leaving us! We truly, really love you! Your friend forever, Phaedriel 00:03, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Yay
RfA Thanks!
Okay, this is perhaps a bit overdue, but thank-you for your support in my recent RfA! I passed with a final
Quoi?Your assessment of my edits as vandalism on a page was a misinterpretation of the point I was trying to make. I welcome your comments on how best to make the point on the page or where the best place to include this argument would be. In particular, "figure skating", "gymnastics", or "diving" are not a sports. Rather they are performance arts because each competition lacks a quantitative basis for scoring. While the event is physically demanding, the basis for success relies solely on the assessment of judges. This "scoring" places emphasis on style and form, which may vary wildly depending on taste and body-type. Certainly real sports like football do have a qualitative component in the form of referees, their judgements only impact the score peripherally because they do not determine the amount of points given for a specific action. The measure for win/loss or success is based on the quantitative score at the end of the game. Ergo, my edit, while brief, is not appriopriatelly labelled vandalism, rather a sloppy attempt at including a precise definition of "sport". -- 69.109.161.145 RevertsHello SWD316. I'm afraid I must take issue with several reverts you have made.
These are all of course open to debate, but I think there is a strong case for overturning your reverts. Thanks. McPhail 21:12, 4 February 2006 (UTC) Reverts/Vandalism/disagreeI was not vandalizing pi#Memorizing pi, I was just trying to place a sticker on "contents" on pi so that people know where to find the first "many" digits of pi within the article from the top. 129.123.104.5 23:01, 4 February 2006 (UTC) Yay!Yay! It's so good to see you around, dear SWD! Btw, I love your new userpage design - it's cool! If I can help you with your "problem", remember you can always ask me for a woman's opinion an advice ;) Kisses! - Phaedriel 00:46, 5 February 2006 (UTC) |
