Movement of restoration of Democracy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Movement for the restoration of democracy was an alliance of opposition parties , formed in , 1982 in Pakistan . The movement did not prove to be a force as the constituent parties were disunited due to a deep suspicion between Benazir Bhutto and parties that had in effect opposed her father. A movement was indeed launched with many violent protests and loss of civilian lives but it failed to be successful. One casualty of this was the National Democratic Party where Wali Khan did not support MRD and clashed with his friend Sardar Sherbaz Khan Mazari. The movement abated and then died a gradual death by 1984.
