Muhammad Gapusov

Muhammad Gapurov (or Muhammadnazar Gapurovich Gapurov) (1922 – 1999) was the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Turkmen SSR from 1971 until 1985 when Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev replaced him with Saparmurat Niyazov due to a cotton-related corruption scandal.
