Museu Paulista

The Museu Paulista of University of Sao Paulo, best known as Museu do Ipiranga, is one of the most important museums in Brazil. A historic museum, it contains a collection of objects, mobiles and art with historic relevance, especially those that have a relationship to the era of Brazilian independence.
The best known object in the collection is the 1888 painting Independência ou Morte (Independence or Death) by Pedro Americo.
