James Cathcart
Hi, How do I thank everyone for helping me clean up my article and putting in the correct wiki language? It looks great. I have one question about the picture of Cathcart that was in the book of Recommended Reading. If it was not on Google Images does that mean that it is copyrighted and I need permission to use it? The picture is obviously an old painting. Perhaps I formatted it incorrectly or it was too large. It is hard to tell now because it did not even make it to the article. Thanks for any help. --moe 18:33, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Response: For information regarding image copyright management, I'd suggest reading Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and perhaps Wikipedia:Copyrights. As for the best way to thank people who have helped you, I would just suggest posting your gratitude to their talk pages. If you find someone who is particularly helpful to you, or someone you see doing great things with the project, feel free to reward them with a Barnstar. I hope this helps. — NMChico24 03:50, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Oops
Yes, I'm still screwing the templates up, sorry... I'll try and do it better.
It's only my second day editing though... and all i seem to be doing is vandal reverts at this rate... (No more bongos 03:30, 24 July 2006 (UTC))
- Response: No worries. I have been doing this for months, and it still occasionally takes me 2 or 3 tries to get some of these templates to look right. — NMChico24 03:33, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Very Tasteful
Hello,
I posted an article about the comedy group Very Tasteful yesterday, and I noticed it was up for debate. I'm quite new to Wikipedia, so forgive my lack of knowledge in these matters. I have been reading the site for a few weeks now, and the other day I thought to myself, "Trish, you're going to step into the Wikipedia World with an article!". I had no idea that there would be so much debate about it. I thought perhaps someone might find an error or two, but I must say I was suprised to see all the commotion! I found my information online from many sources, most of which were from the international movie database, online articles, film projects the members had created, and speaking with other people. I thought it would be best to submit a well thought out article, so that other Wikipedia users may be able to contribute and not have to wory about adding too much information. I did my research, and wrote the article accordingly.
However, I may have added a writer's "flourish" here or there. I felt that one particular member was the most "versatile", but I realize now that it is just my own personal opinion.
I felt I needed to contact you, as you were the fellow who contested it's notability. I do not fault you for this at all, as you clearly are one of the people that makes this site so wonderful. The member Billy Reid did in fact write the theme song for Hope is Emo. They have linked the Very Tasteful site on their site at www.hopeisemo.com. I realize that this information probably won't save my article, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Patricia —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Trish Rules (talk • contribs) .
Gary Frill and sockpuppets
Hi, I have moved the discussion from WP:AIV to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Gary Frill. Please report there any more evidence you can find. Thanks. Mushroom (Talk) 13:28, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Interwiki:Transwiki:Aristophrenia
Are you sure the creation of the page Interwiki:Transwiki:Aristophrenia, and its continuing existence, are necessary? I transwikied a bunch of articles at one point and never created any interwiki pages in the process. --Xyzzyplugh 15:33, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- Dunno. I was trying to follow the instructions, which I'm fairly sure I bungled to a certain extent. You're free to do with that page what you wish, as I agree that I can't see much necessity for it, either. It was my first attempt at a transwiki. — NMChico24 19:06, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Professional Bachelor's degree
The article Professional Bachelor's degree is not “Mostly a duplicate of Bachelor's degree”, I built it from the article Professional Master's degree. It’s important to don’t delete it but we can maybe merge it with the article Bachelor's degree, if we can make clear the difference between the Professional Bachelor's degree and the others Bachelor's degree. Greyclair 22:09, 24 July 2006
- When I read your entry, I didn't see a lot of information that differed from the Bachelor's degree article, however you might add a section to that article explaining the difference between the two. — NMChico24 05:13, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and added the page to AFD, as you removed the prod without any further discussion or addition. Feel free to contribute if you like. NMChico24 05:31, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your answer. “You might add a section to that article explaining the difference between the two” I agree but I am French and my English is not so good… I will try. If we delete Professional Bachelor's degree, Professional Master's degree and Professional doctorate we will lose some important information, but do you still think that we should merge them with Bachelor's degree, Master's degree and Doctorate? Greyclair 22:31, 24 July 2006
- I believe that would be more useful. Having two articles on identical subjects is cumbersome and difficult to keep up-to-date. — NMChico24 08:50, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Request
Can you create Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Controller Theory for me so I can request to have that obnoxious hoax deleted? Thanx. 68.39.174.238 20:35, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- I wasn't requesting that much, but if it gets deleted in the end that's what matters :D. 68.39.174.238 22:23, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Its not copyright infrigment, yes the article appears on the cdbaby ebsite, it also appears on the streetainment, isound & many other sites. The reason for this is because it was I who wrote the articles & is I who owns the rights. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Street2k (talk • contribs) .

You moved my page...the person I was planning on writing about is an up-in-comming professional mixed martial arts fighter. I thought this might be worth an article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Seanwiggins (talk • contribs) .
- It appeared to be a vanity article, as the title was the same as your username. Also, the subject didn't seem to be notable, as you indicate by stating that the fighter is "up-in-coming." Please see WP:BIO for further information. — NMChico24 01:30, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Removing CSDs
Thanks very much for your note. Apology accepted, of course. My attitude towards CSDs is that they are a sign that something is seriously wrong with the article. Sometimes, the problem can be resolved by editing the article, and that's what I prefer to do when it's an appropriate option. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 04:25, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
ROMB's Deletion
Please note that the article you just deleted was NOT the same article as before. The article content was different. Also, the reason for the previous deletion had been Alexa rank of the webcomic, which is no longer valid under the current WP:WEB. At the same time, a reference had been found sustaining the article's notability claiming, meaning it met criteria for inclusion under WP:WEB. Had you read the article instead of speedily deleting it, you would have noted these things. Please undelete the article, since I think this is a mistake. Xuanwu 09:00, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- If you would like to resurrect the article, I would suggest reviewing Wikipedia:Deletion review. Alternately, you can try discussing the situation with the admin who deleted the article. In this case, the admin was ClockworkSoul. — NMChico24 09:12, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Regarding illicks Mill Partnership

- Response: The material needs to be released into the public domain as per the GFDL. If you are releasing the material as such, please post your concerns at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. Thank you! — NMChico24 21:31, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
deletion recommnedation for Irgent article
I am a obvious newbie to wiki authoring but a frequent reader. I don't understand why I can't put up an explanation of the Irgent product. Irgent article deletion
Nevermind I have read more of the guidelines. I understand now why the article was marked for deletion. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pepperbernhardt (talk • contribs) .
- Response: The article may not necessarily be deleted. I have nominated it because I don't feel it meets our guidelines for notability/importance. However, if you have information to the contrary, I invite you to participate in the deletion discussion. The discussion will run for five days and will allow the article to be thoroughly discussed by other editors before any action is taken. Thank you! — NMChico24 21:48, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Illick's Mill
I posted on the deletion review page. About how long before i receive an answer?
- Response: To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I haven't done a deletion review before. I would suggest asking someone who has contributed to some of the deletion reviews, like one of the admins. Also, you can contact Fang Aili, who is the admin who deleted and protected the article. — NMChico24 22:50, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Long-Overdue RfA Thanks from Alphachimp
Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which was successful with a an overwhelmingly flattering and deeply humbling total of 138/2/2 (putting me #10 on the RfA WP:100). I guess infinite monkey theorem has been officially proven. Chimps really can get somewhere on Wikipedia.
With new buttons come great responsibility, and I'll try my best to live up to your expectations. If you need assistance with something, don't hesitate to swing by my talk page or email me (trust me, I do respond :)). The same goes for any complaints or comments in regard to my administrative actions. Remember, I'm here for you. Denver 2008 - the latest
Hey, NMChico24. I'm dropping by the talk pages of Wikipedians for Denver 2008 today with an update on the bidding process and where Denver's bid is currently at.
First off, Denver has a new, unofficial bid homepage up today: http://www.denverdnc2008.com/ , which you may want to check out for more info on the bid to bring the DNC to the Mile High City in '08.
Second, today the site-selection committee is expected to announce the final two cities in the bid for 2008. It's expected by most pundits and bloggers that Denver and St. Paul will likely be the two finalists, but many think that dark horse New York may edge out a seat in the final days of the bidding process.
Third, we're expecting an official site for Denver's bid to emerge within days from the mind of Colorado Democratic Party V.C. Dan Slater (founder and operator of the popular Colorado blog Demonotes).
Well, that's the basics of the day-after-Labor Day DNC update, from a dem from Denver (that'd be me). If your looking for more info on the process that this is all about, check out the premier blog for doing so, http://demconwatch.blogspot.com (a link is on my page: links section for both this blog, Demnotes, and Denver 2008). If you’re looking for more info on the Democratic Party straight from the donkey's mouth check out http://www.democrats.org the official site of the Democratic National Committee.
Anyhow, have a good one. Editor19841 (talk) 23:35, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Electric Ghosts
I am just responding to a request for deletion here, of the Electric Ghosts, which is a side-project of Daniel Johnston. It was an issue of Notability, which I could understand. However, if you are familiar with #REDIRECT Daniel Johnston, or if you check his Wikipedia entry, you might see that he is a world-renowned musician. A documentary of his life has just been released on DVD, and he had an exhibition of his art at the Whitney Museum in New York City. The Electric Ghosts was a side project undertaken with his personal friend Don Goede, co-founder of Soft Skull Press (which also has an entry). I plan on including more references to Soft Skull, and #REDIRECT Ron English. I hope this helps discourage a request to delete.
Chris192.153.23.100 23:53, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- I don't feel that the band's importance warrants an article. Of course, if you feel differently, you're free to dispute the proposed deletion by removing the tag from the article. This can be done by anyone at anytime for any reason, although it's good to explain your reasoning in the edit summary and/or article talk page so that it's clear why you feel the article should be kept. Hope this helps! — NMChico24 01:26, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
Derek James
I edited the article for Derek James to make it shorter and better. He's well-known in the radio world nationally and is well-known in Charlotte television. I don't just say that because he's a friend of mine. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.28.83.95 (talk • contribs) .
- If you feel the deletion request is unwarranted, by all means feel free to remove it. Just be sure to cite your reasons for removing it in the talk page with any additional information you might have on the subject. This will become useful if someone else decides to send the article to AFD. Thank you.

Your signature
Please remove the image from your signature per WP:SIG. Thank You. Jorcoga 02:38, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- I have had this signature for months with no complaints. I'll review the guideline and make a decision about it. In the future, I would appreciate it if you would phrase your request as a civil discussion, rather than what appears to be an order. WP:SIG is, after all, only a guideline, and I'm not currently breaking any policies. Thank you for your input! — NMChico24 04:38, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi there; this article you marked for {{speedy}} and I marked for {{prod}}. Clearly we do not disagree about the article, but did you realise that vanity is not (though it should be) a qualification for speedy delete? --Anthony.bradbury 22:05, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not criticising even slightly. The article has no place in wikipedia, and if an admin wipes it jolly good. I was just letting you know about one of the wiki rules.--Anthony.bradbury 22:32, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Alan, I'm Alan. Please don't be in such a hurry to delete articles like this one. Yes, it was a mess when I found it, but it didn't qualify for speedy, as notability was asserted. Please consider, in situations like this, consider cleaning up and fixing the article instead, or at least post cleanup and wikify tags. Actors with IMDb entries are generally considered notable on Wikipedia. Akradecki 22:40, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- The fact that the article needed cleanup didn't influence my decision to tag it for deletion. I did some short research and found very little about the subject, so I chose to request deletion. Since you've raised objections, I have submitted the article for AFD discussion to generate further consensus. Please feel free to participate if you have more info about the subject to add. Thank you --NMChico24 22:53, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
