The Pacific Coast Theater encompasses operations that occurred in the United States bordering or close to the Pacific Ocean, including the states of California and Oregon and the territories of Washington and Idaho[1].
The campaign classification established by the United States National Park Service[2] contains only one campaign and one battle in this theater. Other operations west of the Mississippi River are included in the Trans-Mississippi Theater.
