[edit] NPOV
This article needs to be checked by someone who is more familar with Pat Kenny. I am not sure he is actually a scientologist. Also calling him a "Prick" is hardly NPOV.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Archeus (talk • contribs) .
Well spotted. How did we miss this? I've reverted way back to the last unvandalised version. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 19:31, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Vandals were publically detailing it. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054929578 Might be more again soon. --Archeus 20:11, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, these facts seem pretty accurate. Another job well done I'd say.--87.192.94.163 23:01, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Risteard Cooper
I think it's worth noting that Risteard Cooper of 'Apres Match' fame parodies Pat Kenny occasionally on T.V. and frequently during live shows.
[edit] Frequent Pat Kenny phrases on 'The Late Late Show'
"We've got a packed Late Late Show for you tonight..."
"Looking forward to that one in particular..."
"Now, my next guest is an extraordinary guy..."
(To guest) "At this stage, things couldn't get any worse...except remarkably they did."
"And remember - if you're not in, you don't win the prize."
"Join us after this, don't go away, goodbye!"
(To guest) "Thank you for coming on the programme..."
[edit] Earnings
His earnings of €899,000 were almost twice the earnings of his nearest rival Gerry Ryan. Kenny was paid €635,916 by RTE in 2003.
That is almost 40% more than his rival's earnings. Not twice as much. Twice as much would 1,3 million euros. Somebody should redo his math classes. Please fix it or prove me wrong somehow.
- Gladly. Kenny earns €899,000. Ryan earns €487,492. Therefore, Kenny earns approximately 1.8441328267951063812329227966818 times as much as Ryan. Is that "somebody" you? Ian Cheese 22:13, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Probably not Vandalism but requiring citation if true
Removed the following sections given the earlier vandalism to the page; these comments could be vandalism, urban myths or sensible points (or a combination) but in any event they require citation to appear on a bio page. In particular the bald statement that critics view the show as not being a success is only a thinly disguised point of view unless critics can be shown to have held that opinion. Dooley 17:34, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
An early faux pas became legendary. RTÉ was broadcasting solemn music following the death of former president, Taoiseach and Easter Rising leader Éamon de Valera. Kenny as the CA at the end of a piece of Irish folk music by Planxty read out the name of the piece without checking. It turned out to be called "the ol' divil is dead".[citation needed]
Critics view Kenny's tenure at the Late Late as having been not a success[citation needed]. While the show still receives mass audiences, it has lost one third of its viewership since Byrne's departure[citation needed]. A revamp of the show (which saw its distinctive signature tune and visual style dropped for one preferred by Kenny) was seen as having lost the show much of its character. While Byrne as a presenter was someone who was at heart a theatrical figure who could bring humour and informality to the show and still handle major serious discussions well, Kenny as a longtime journalist, though able to handle "heavy issues" is seen as "wooden" in front of the cameras and "trying too much" when he moves to lighter topics. This is in contrast to his mastery of radio broadcasting on his acclaimed Today with Pat Kenny on RTÉ Radio 1.
[edit] Vandalising
Vandalising
Demiurge is regularly deleting whole chunks of Pat Kenny's entry.
This is vandalism. Improve the content is the approach, not censorship. His opinions are no more or less valid than that of any other editor. Deleting chunks on spurious grounds leaves non-sequiters in the article.
He should remember that editors are not censors and such actions disimprove wikipedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tayana (talk • contribs) .
[edit] Demiurge writes fiction
You inserted per the history page an incorrect link to a Sunday Independent which you say was published on Thursday.
^ Sorry, Pat, but you're no Gay Byrne. And you know it — Sunday Independent, 7 September 2006
Looking at your contribs, you seem to do more reverting and deleting than improving the articles. I have seen reversions done by you that left orphaned text.
[edit] Demiurge
I believe that Demiurge is either Pat Kenny or a friend, family member or fanatic. He/she removes anything that he/she does not want present on this article. With all due respect, and I stress that this is NOT a personal attack, just an opinion from what I have observed, "Demiurge" is infatuated with Pat Kenny and protecting his image. Please abstain from vandalising this article any further. Spaingy 20:44, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
