Roserade (ロズレイド Rozureido?) are one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. Rozureido is famous for being one of the Pokémon revealed before the Japanese release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The purpose of Rozureido in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]
Rozureido was first officially revealed at the PokéJungle event in Japan,[3] but it was previously mentioned that Roselia may be gaining a Stage 1 form.[4] Rozureido is confirmed to be the evolved form of Roselia, as the text below its picture states that "Roselia has evolved into Rozureido".
The name Rozureido may be a combination of the English words rose, in reference to the rose on its head and its bouquet-like hands, and masquerade, as it appears to be wearing a mask.

[edit] Appearance
Roserade has an odd resemblance to a masquerader. It has thin, club-shaped arms that have three roses as its hands. It bears a large white rose on its head. Like Roselia, its roses are red and blue on its right and left hands, respectively. Its legs are like those of Roselia's as well, except for the yellow tips of its feet. It wears a mask that is connected to the white rose atop its head, which in turn is connected to the head and a sepal that extends behind the head and just below the rose. The large eyes that show from behind its mask-like face are red (like Ralts, Kirlia, and Gardevoir) with yellow eyelids. It has a long green cloak that trails behind it. It also has a yellow collar that the cloak is probably connected to. The leaf it had in front of it is no longer there; it could be that on Roselia it was a dress and now it has been turned into its green leafy cloak. One could say Rozureido's appearance is reminiscent of a superhero/heroine.
[edit] In the video games
Although not much is known about Roserade, some information has been released about its attacks and abilities. Its ability choices are the same as Roselia's: they are Natural Cure, an ability that heals the Pokémon's status when withdrawn from battle, or Poison Point, an ability that causes the opponent to have a 30% chance of being induced with Poison when using an attack that requires physical contact against this Pokémon. Roserade learns Leaf Storm, a new Grass-type attack. Leaf Storm is an attack that sharply lowers its user's Special Attack after being used (same as Overheat and Psycho boost).
Roselia evolves into Roserade when the Light Stone, a brand-new evolution stone, is used on it.
When Roserade's base stats were revealed, it had a high Special Attack stat for both Grass and/or Poison types. It also has a very high Special Defense stat, and decent speed. While the rest, are mediocre and low, especially for the Defense points.
One characteristic about Roserade that distinguishes it from other Pokemon (aside from its astounding special attack stat) is that it learns Weather Ball, a move that used to be exclusive to Castform.
Male Roserade have shorter "capes" than females.
