Samuel Marsden Collegiate School

Samuel Marsden Collegiate School is located in the Wellington suburb of Karori in New Zealand. It provides a private Year 1 to 13 education for girls but its kindergarten facilities are co-educational. It is renown for being a very academic school and is currently headed by Gillian Eadie. The school is named after the Anglican Missionary Samuel Marsden.
It currently has around 1000 students and has 6 houses in the upper school. It was founded in the 1870's but did not move to Karori until the 1920's. In 2005 the school expanded and bought Whitby Independent School, renaming it to Marsden Whitby. The school recently won the New Zealand Computer Institutes Award for Excellence in the use of IT in Schools: Secondary and Primary.
