[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Bloodgulch.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Bloodgulch.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 07:46, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Racemap01S.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Racemap01S.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 01:25, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you
Thank you for notifying me, I have added the info. All province images are from Bethesda Softwork's Tamriel Map.

See [1]. You might have been looking at Special:Ipblocklist, which shows that this guy's IP address, whatever it is, is blocked for 24 hours, because he attempted to edit from that account after I blocked it. — Apr. 2, '06 [04:01] <freakofnurxture|talk>
- By the way, I had never heard of you before. It was the ball-sucking part I blocked for. — Apr. 2, '06 [04:05] <freakofnurxture|talk>
[edit] Multiplayer Halo maps
OMG thank you sooo much for helping expand the List of multiplayer maps in Halo article. Thank you a bunch!! I must say, awesome screenshots. What's your halo screenname? Mayhap I'll see you around. I'm [SSW<>TW]Mãc. -- Mac Davis] ⌇☢ ญƛ. 04:57, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] No Problem
No problem man. My screen name is "Swiftoak" but I don't play very often. Hey do you know how to get your sig to look like that? Swiftoak 15:04, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- Why did you revert my {{TOCright}} tag? I just have the code for my sig in a file and copy and paste it. :) -- User:Mac_Davis
- Hello again there. I did revert your TOC right because when I took a look at the page, it looked somewhat odd. It was bumping into the Blood Gulch sub-article. But I'm sorta new here, so if you want, you can put it back. And thanks for the info. Swiftoak 18:53, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] From Nunavut too?
No I haven't been there. The only places I went to in the east werer Rankin and Iqaluit. The last 32 years I lived in Talaoyak (1 year), Holman (Ulukhaktok 20 years) and Cambridge Bay (11 years). I have been to all the Kitikmeot communities over the years. How long have you been inCape Dorset? CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 06:48, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

- I've moved here from Ontario a couple years back. Just wanted a change of scenery. Pay us a visit some time. The art here is great! Swiftoak 20:27, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jordin Tootoo
If you look at the history the syllabics were removed. I replaced them with what I found in the News/North. Can you check and see that they are correct and fill in the "Kudluk". We don't use syllabics here so I can't ask anybody. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:18, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

- Yes, it's right from what I can see. And I'll see what I can do. Thanks. Swiftoak 01:35, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vandals
It's become alot more reclusive, but on the Freenode IRC netwk there exist's a channel (#vandalism-en-wp) that people run edit checking bots on. Then you just have to check the diff link and if its vandalism, revert it and warn the dude responsible. 68.39.174.238 02:22, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tamriel Rebuilt Page
Hey Swiftoak, it's another member of TR. I've pretty much entirely rewritten the article into a perma-stub. All of the information on the page was irrelevant at the Wikipedia. 66.87.91.36 05:10, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- Ya I kinda suck at writing articles :P
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Chiefhead.gif)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Chiefhead.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — TKD::Talk 12:24, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Races fullmap center.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Races fullmap center.gif. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. I see you're from Nunavut. Are you in or do you have occasion to go to Iqaluit? Because we could really use a picture of the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. - Montréalais 02:44, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ph06.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Ph06.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.
