- This article refers to the band. For the wrestling term, see tag team.
Tag Team was an American hip hop group, best known for their 1993 hit "Whoomp! (There It Is)". The members were DC the Brain Supreme and Steve Roll'n.
95 South's "Whoot, There It Is" was oddly similar and released a month earlier. However, the single-artwork downloaded through the iTunes Store shows 'Tag Team Featuring 95 South'.

[edit] Pop culture references
Within a year of the release of "Whoomp! (There It Is)" Tag Team re-mixed the backing music with a version of the theme song from the original Addams Family television series to create the highly derivative song "Addams Family (Whoomp!)" for the film Addams Family Values; for all intents and purposes, it was roughly the same song with an Addams-themed flavor. Actors Christina Ricci and Jimmy Workman reprised their film roles as Wednesday Addams and Pugsley Addams (respectively) for the song's music video.
In an advertisement for the chocolate snack Swoops, the song was used with the changed lyric, "Swoop! There it is".
Beavis and Butt-Head once watched the video for this song, which features the word "Whoomp" on screen several times. Beavis thus described it as a good video for learning how to read. The duo also sang along with the chorus, altering the lyric to "Whoomp! There's my butt!"
In Chris Rock’s “Bigger and Blacker,” he says,“You don't like Puerto Ricans? Your daughter's gonna come home with ‘Livin' la vida loca!' Don't you just love that shit? That's a catchy-ass song. You just want to jump up on shit. 'Livin' la vida loca! Come on!' l feel that shit. l'll be driving, 'Livin' la vida loca!' l love that shit. That ain't going nowhere. That's gonna be out a long time. That shit is like the Puerto Rican Whoomp! (There It Is)!”
