Takeda Kanryūsai

Takeda Kanryusai (武田 観柳斎) (? - June 22, 1867) was the fifth unit captain of the Shinsengumi which were a special police force for the Tokugawa regime.
He was a samurai born in Izumo, in the late Edo Period.
Since Takeda was an expert in the military tactics of the Koshu Naganuma School, he also served as an instructor of military tactics in the Shinsengumi.
Later, he planned to betray the Shinsengumi and was therefore assassinated by the Shinsengumi.
It is also rumored that he was homosexual, but this is able to be debated
