Tweek (first name unknown, simply called by his surname) is a fictional character in the animated television series South Park, introduced during the second season. Voiced by Matt Stone, his name is taken from a slang term referring to recreational users of methamphetamines.

[edit] Hyperactivity
Tweek is portrayed as a hyperactive boy who has messy blonde hair, generally wears a grey-green shirt buttoned incorrectly, and dark blue jeans. Tweek is noted for his quirky mannerisms; he is always nervous and jittery and usually overdosed on caffeine, leading to extreme paranoia and hyperactivity. In addition, he claims that "I can't sleep... ever." His voice is usually strained, and he tends to scream, "GAH! Too much pressure, I can't take it!!" or some variation thereof. In the episode, Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants, he appears to practice fatalism.

Tweek's parents own a coffee shop, Tweek Bros. Coffee, and attempt to calm him using coffee; this has the effect of increasing his caffeine levels and worsening his mental state, however no one ever makes the connection because Tweek, like Timmy, has been incorrectly diagnosed with ADHD, but unlike Timmy, actually shows reasonably similar symptoms to the disorder. The only time anyone has ever questioned this is when Stan asks Mr Tweek about it in the Underpants Gnomes episode. This has also led him to be called a cocaine addict by one of Steven Spielberg's bodyguards in the episode Free Hat.

Tweek himself has fought with Craig in the episode "Tweek vs. Craig", and was chosen as the fourth friend of the main characters during a reality television spoof in which Kyle, Stan and Cartman remove Butters from their group. He was a member of the group for five episodes in the middle of the sixth season, after which he returned to his previous minor-character role.
In Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society, Cartman suggests replacing him (as he replaced Butters, who replaced Kenny) as the Fourth Friend. Kyle actually overrules him, saying "Tweek's cool," and Stan backs him up by saying "yes" indicating that Tweek has actually won over some support in spite of his caffeine-induced difficulties.
In Free Hat, Tweek leads the campaign trying to prevent George Lucas and Steven Spielberg from changing Raiders of the Lost Ark after Stan, Kyle and Cartman are taken prisoner by them. He then threatens to destroy the changed version with an RPG-7. However, the attack fails and Tweek is captured resulting in the continued premiere of the edited version of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
During the episode Gnomes, Tweek's father's Coffee Shop, Tweek Bros. Coffee, is under threat of enforced closure due to being outsold by a retail coffee shop chain, Harbucks - a parody of the Starbucks coffee chain - opening up in South Park. Tweek himself experiences hallucinations - the titular underpants gnomes, whom he believes are stealing his underwear. It transpires that the gnomes are in fact real; their discovery by the other characters is used to advance the plot line. Due to his increasing role in the shows tenth season as well as Kenny's deminishing role, fans are speculating that Tweek and Butters are both reclaiming their major character status.
