[edit] Featured Article
No article is currently assigned.
Nominate an article for Article of for Featured Article here. A featured article should represent the best in Missouri-related articles.
- The Day After - filmed in KC and Lawrence, a concerted effort is underway to make this a features article on the main page. Most of the film took place in Missouri. --KHill-LTown 04:41, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- Support. Very interesting and well written. --preschooler@heart my talk - contribs 22:47, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- Since this is the Missouri Project shouldn't the article on Missouri be a feature article? After all, Missouri is what this project is all about. --(Steve 20:47, 27 April 2006 (UTC))
support. That's not a bad idea. however we'll need support from at least 3 people (or 3 more supporters than opposers) to get it approved. keep in mind that it's good to find articles that are well written and that most wouldn't have read otherwise. --preschooler@heart my talk - contribs 17:19, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- oppose I'd have to agree with Steve on this. While this is a good article, I don't think that it's the one we want to stand behind. I would much rather see something more related to Missouri make it to featured status. Amalas =^_^= 17:52, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Comment. wait, what are you referring to in your opposition? "the day after" or "Missouri"? --preschooler@heart my talk - contribs 19:16, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Oops... I meant to say that I oppose The Day After. Amalas =^_^= 20:19, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- oppose OK, the unknown newbie chimes in. The Day After is a great article, but I don't think playing up a program about the end of life as we know it would necessarily be the best sort of advertisement for the state. I personally think playing up some other article which might need more work, like Lewis and Clark, Harry Truman, Louisiana Purchase, Branson, Missouri, St. Louis, Missouri, U.S. Route 66, or even KMOX might function as a better advertisement for the state than an end-of-the-world story. Granted, any other would need improvements, but those could be made a priority of the group. My personal choice would be U.S. Route 66. There's a great exhibit at the Jefferson Expansion about the subject, and I could try to get some good photos and other items to upgrade the article. Of course, I don't necessarily know what I'm talking about. Feel free to heckle. Badbilltucker 01:23, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Kansas City, Missouri Well written and interesting, perfect article to represent our cause. --Geobeedude 18:52, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Geobeedude

[edit] Requests
Things to do
- Place {{WikiProject Missouri}} on talk pages of all articles found on {{Missouri}} and subsequently all cities, counties, regions, government articles, and other relevant articles. This is essentially busywork and any assistance is much appreciated.
- Regions and Metropolitan Areas covered. Anyone who does anything, please report it here so people don't go in and waste time. If you are currently working on a section, change the status to In Progress. Do sections in alphabetical order and when you've stopped, switch the status to "begun: completed to _".
Practically every article in a subcategory of Category:Missouri should be tagged. it's long and tedious, but eventually we hope to get around to all of it.
Regions: Complete
Metropolitan Areas: Complete
Cities: Not Complete
- Everything at Category:Unincorporated communities in Missouri now has a tag.
- Everything at Category:Cities in Missouri is complete, except for subcategories of the subcategory of St. Louis.
- Everything at Category:Villages in Missouri is complete.
- Category:Towns in Missouri is gone, it is now a redirect
-
- All articles in the St. Louis category are done; however, there are several subcategories to the St. Louis subcategory and the articles in the subcategories are not done.
- I started working on the subcategories for St. Louis and I was able to tag all the articles (excluding Illinois ones) for the subcategories 'Buildings and structures in St. Louis' to 'Parks in St. Louis.' I started on the 'Sports in St. Louis,' but that went many levels deep and I wasn't sure what to tag and what not to tag. Amalas 15:16, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- All articles are done except for those in the St. Louis subcategories "Sports in St. Louis" and "St. Louisians". Some articles were omitted because of lack of relevance to Missouri, and highways were omitted because those are the responsibility of the Missouri Highways WikiProject. --preschooler@heart my talk - contribs 07:25, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
-
- I got started on St. Louisians. All articles in the main subactegory are covered, but sub-subcategories are not. how did this get so layered and confusing?--preschooler@heart my talk - contribs 08:00, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Counties: Complete
Highways and Roads: Complete
High Schools: Complete
