Category talk:Women of the Ottoman Empire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Surely some women in the Ottoman Empire were Christians and Jews? Should we change it to Muslim Women of the Ottoman Empire, or remove the categorization, or what? PatGallacher 14:25, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Of course at certain times Ottoman Empire included Greece, Hungary, Moldova. But they most probably will be listed among Greek, Hungarian or Moldovan women. Also, please try to imagine a status of a person in Otoman Empire who is twice lower rank, i.e., who is both non-Muslim and woman. If any of them had any prominence, she would be of worldide fame, and we had her in wikipedia three years ago. Mukadderat 16:04, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- That doesn't answer the question. Should this category be re-named Muslim Women of the Ottoman Empire? PatGallacher 16:26, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- No. I agree that formally the hierarchy of categories is incorrect. But I don't think the category so big that requires further detalization by religion. I am removing the categorization of the category. Mukadderat 18:02, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
