[edit] Fictional addressing
The text as originally written doesn't make it very obvious that this is, in fact, a fictional weapon, even though there was a scentence stating this at the top.
I made a slight change to the first scentence to make this more clear, however, I feel that perhaps the entire article should change from present tens to past-tense, which would make the language in this article a lot better in my mind.

[edit] Afterimages
has it really been confirmed that Destiny's afterimages are because of Mirage Colloid? Can Destiny 'cloak'?
- To your first question, yes. It's mentioned in the 1/100 model kit that Mirage Colloid is used to produce 3-dimensional after-images. To your second, no. It's a totally different Mirage Colloid application. They're like Minovsky particles in Universal Century: Mirage Colloid can be used to do lots of different stuff. 68.47.175.214 21:51, 21 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Destiny's Wings of Light
While the Destiny does posses "Wings of Light", similar to the Victory 2 Gundam (ie they are both used to achieve high speeds), they do not function as large beam sabers or beam shields (both of which the V2 could do with its beam wings).
- Who says? We never see them do it, but we can't rule it out. The Destiny's wings seem to fuction almost exactly the same as the Wings of Light, just replacing Minovsky with Mirage Colloid particles. --DNAlpha 18:06, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
-
- Because we've never seen them used that way in the series? That's like saying even though Strike-Freedom never used its DRAGOONs in the atmosphere, that doesn't mean it can't be used. I doubt Shinn would cripple himself and not use the WoL as beam sabers/shields if he could.
-
- Besides that, absolutely nothing indicates that Destiny's WoL can be used in this manner (official site, model kits, magazines, and etc). I think it's safe to conclude that it's not the same as V2's WoL. DarkWarrior 19:14, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Misplaced info
I fail to see what the info 152.118.24.10 added has to do with anything here, it would be better put in a discussion forum or something simmilar. --Tuderen 21:20, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] About the trivia addition
I know its somewhat silly a thing to add, but I thought it was worth pointing out in trivia that the Destiny is the only protagonist Gundam to flat out lose its final battle in Gundam history. The only one. There are some other moments some may bring up:
-The Alex is nearly destroyed in the end of 0080, but it technically "wins", and while she is often shown in games and depictions of the story to be the main protagonist, Christina isn't really the main character (Which would be Bernie ofcourse. Poor guy.).
-Shiro and the Ez-08 I agree may not have really won in the end of 08th MS team because the Colonel obviously gave up and let Shiro beat him. But the EZ does limp to the end and ultimatly end the conflict although its pretty much totaled in the end.
-The Wing Zero Custom gets extremely messed up, pretty much destroyed in the end of Endless Waltz but it ultimatly completes its (and Heero's) mission before being totaled itself.
-Of course, the legendary duel between Amuro's RX-78 and Char's Zeong ends with both being totaled...and while its debatable no one really wins in the end..but neither is defeated either. Amuro wins his little personal fight and escapes, and Char completes his vengeance after and also survives.
-Nu Gundam's fate is questionable although its mostly agreed that it gets destroyed with Amuro and Char...but like Wing Zero it completes its (and the pilot"s) objective.
The Destiny and Shinn are the only Gundam/Pilot main character in the entire series' history to not only flat out lose the last duel, mobile suit totaled and all, but also not complete the pilot's mission. Although Shinn comes out okay in the end and renewed, fact is putting it mildly... is that he got his butt rightfully handed to him in every sense and got a good taste of humble pie. I think its worth mentioning because of that. Anyone else agree? --68.233.141.149 14:00, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Kou Uraki both lost to Gatou's Neue Ziel and failed to stop Operation Stardust at the end of 0083.
Also... "rightfully" got his rear kicked? Shinn had some serious issues by the end of Destiny, true, but it's not like he was Captain Evil, off to screw over Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
[edit] Bias
Quite frankly, the spoilers section needs to be re-edited because it's blatantly biased against Shin. The following line is a prime example: In short, no matter how well Shinn fought, and he was never one for clearheaded combat to begin with, he simply didn't have as many options as his primary opponents did. This sort of thing is often perpetrated by those who favor Shin's opponents in this series and attempt to make him look bad in various ways, increasing his flaws and diminishing his achievements.
- Agreed, people seem to be forgetting that this is an article about Destiny Gundam. It's NOT a place to insert biased remarks about Shinn.
-
- To further clarify, there shouldn't be a distinct bias towards the suit itself. The last editor seemed to add random comments that seemed very fan-boyish in content and were unnecessary. I tried my best to get rid of the bias and clean up the grammar which was very off.

- Actually, he's just vandal this page. If he really want to add something, at least he won't replace link to Japaneese pade with ?????????? I almost revert to earlier version before his first edit, if it isn't for 69.203.114.84 who done so much to reshape his crap into acceptable work. L-Zwei 14:01, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks for reverting. I have now joined to avoid having the shared IP address I use, allow people to blame me for vandalism. I edited the page a bit more too, hopefully this guy will go away or at least learn to type in a proper fashion.

Ok I'm the member Shinn&Destiny who was editing the Destiny Gundam page, Really i'm a fan for Shinn and Destiny, And about what i wrote is just the truth (Destiny Gundam is the best and stongest gundam in the C.E and that what was Director Fukada's said in one of his interviews, And i know that Destiny was defeated in the last battle but if you are the best you will not win every time and that what happened to the protagonist in star wars. And about biasing if i'm biasing for Shinn, Ok! it was said in Kira Yamato bio that (Wars have definitely proven that he is one of the most skilled mobile suit pilots in the SEED universe, if not the best) that's only a fake because he was beaten 2 times in seed and destiny series: first: from athrun in the battle between aegis and strike, but he beats athrun is destiny series freedom vs saviour second: from shinn in the battle between impulse and freedom, then he wasn't be able to defeat shinn with his new ms. so shinn got a one on kira so how he would be the best if he wasn't be able to beat the all whilt shinn beat both of a thrun and kira but he was beaten by athrun so shinn is the best pilot in the C.E
chuayx : (new here dont know how to use the discussion pg) I think it is logical to write "his MS didn't have as many attacking options as his primary opponents did." This is because the Destiny's weapons mostly is manipulator hand-operated, and there is no chest mounted/leg mounted weapon.
and in kira's bio there are a lot of biases : 1)in the first line Kira Yamato is the protagonist of the television anime series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and is an important character in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny but in shinn's bio that shinn is the main character of gsd series 2)can you count how many unnecesary pictures there are or how many unnecesary sentences there are like : Acquiring a New Sword or Acquiring Another New Sword in shinn's bio there are 4 pictures and the content isn't included all the necessary things 3) the nature relation ship between kira and lacus: that they are lovers and etc...... then I will put what Morosawa said in her interview: Q. We would like to hear what you have to say concerning the relationships in Gundam Seed Destiny. A. Only Shinn and Lunamaria are truly in love. Kira and Lacus have already settled down (pass the "in love" stage), Athrun and Cagalli's love is a misunderstood love. It seems like Cagalli doesn't seem to like Athrun a great deal.
http://community.livejournal.com/asucaga/114278.html this is the web where i found it
so if kira and lacus are lovers shinn and luna are more and more lovers according to what morosawa the series writer said. so is shinn and luna bios: The relationship between Lunamaria and Shinn may be an insider joke this must be deleted because it's just a fake
then can you remember how many quotes and trivia is written in kira's bio and how many is shinn's bio
and after every thing i don't know who is the manager or who is in charge of kira's and shinn's bio but please could you give me the permission to edit what i wasnt about shinn as a fan for him.
and so i'm sorry about all those language mistakes english is not my first language it's the third one so i'm sorry another time, and i will start writing about shinn. but if you could help me to create a page that i can write about shinn i will thank you forever.

- First, I don't care what do you think about the horrible people from CE universe (with some exception, like SEED-MSV and ASTRAY cast, I hate most of them), Wikipedia article should written from NPOV and yours edit aren't. Second, you replace link to Japaneese Wikipedia with ??????????, this mean you not even attemp to check your work at all. L-Zwei 04:09, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

First what i have written is just my NPOV with some facts and no one can decide that so could you tell me why think that this is not my NPOV, Second i'm a fan for Shinn,Destiny Gundam,Lunamaria, and just so could you leave this article for a fan to wrote what he know about his fav character or what, Third this sentence : you replace link to Japaneese Wikipedia with ??????????, this mean you not even attemp to check your work at all.
I'm really don't know what you mean I havent done a thing like that so could you explain.
Ok! you beat me Evoluder Guy you are a genius and i'm an overlooked boy and i'm sorry, but could you please add that some weapons of destiny are similar to other gundam weapons incliding the wings of light and the trails, and please try to rewite the pharagraph about destiny's power. and i wasnt to ask you if destiny's battery can be charged then theit can be charged from far away and the destiny need to return to minerva, and then really why destiny gundam is the only protagonist ms the got a horrible power problem, and why it lost it's power in this episode while the legend never lost i's power.
and i have another question what do you think about destiny's unlimited potential and it was never seen in the series, why
then really i don't think that destiny, justice, freedom are same power what you prefer to be the powerful of all.
i wasnt to ask you: what kind of phase shift armor does the destiny included with.
and thank for everything you evplained everything well.i'm soory and thanks for you and to you
- The similarities between the Destiny and other UC/AU Gundams is noted in the trivia section, just go down the page. To have it in the article will just bog it down so I moved it to the end because it doesn't have any relevance to the suit in the CE itself. Destiny doesn't have "horrible power", as I stated in the article it is said to have a battery and a battery needs to be recharged (or replaced but that doesn't really happen in MS in Gundam) but when, or if, it actually does recharge is never really explained so it's unclear. I changed the article to be very clear about the speculation on what the Hyper Capacitator Battery does, why it's on the Destiny and not the Legend and that the time it was recalled was more for its weapons and repair not neccesarily to recharge although it could have happened.
- Destiny's potential is never seen because Shinn was replaced by Kira and became pretty much a "bad guy". Also potential and realized power are two very different things. The Destiny may have eventually become stronger than the SF or IJ but we'll never know because Shinn was not allowed to grow and was treated very badly after Kira came back into the picture. No growth means no realization of potential which was a waste. I really did not like this and I think that Fukuda and Morosawa made a huge mistake in what they did with Shinn after Kira stole the main character spot from him. Oh and Destiny has normal Phase Shift as far as I know as it is never shown to alter its coloration like the Impulse, which has Variable Phase Shift and it has never been said to have Trans Phase and is always listed as having normal Phase Shift.
- Oh and I think that if you want to talk to me, go to my talk page since we really aren't supposed to chat on the discussion of articles. Evoluder Guy 01:09, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Destiny can run out of power.
Well I have rewatched Episode 42 (something I should have done before I suppose) and it is shown that the Destiny was running out of power. When Rey tells Shinn to come back to the Minerva, Shinn tries to argue but looks down at his power gauge and it only has 8 bars of power, 5 white and 3 red. There was an "ALERT" sign as well and the Hyper Capacitor shows no energy. So the HNDR used by Legend and Destiny does need recharging after all. The article now reflects this. Evoluder Guy 19:35, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- As far as I know. It have been confirmed by Shigeo Morita, the spec background designer of Destiny. He said that Shinn use more power than it can replinish. But in my speculation and many others too, it is also possible the point blank attack of railgun by Strike Freedom contribute too, since it may have the Variable Phase Shift Armor of Destiny absorbed too much electricity. Draconins 02:19, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- True that's what I really think I'm the same as you(Draconins) But I think that in Destiny's article it's written that Destiny uses a normal PS while in (www.mahq.net) it uses the VPS So what web is wrong and I read too in (www.mahq.com) that Destiny Gundam and Legend are using the NJC so is it a mistake or what.Astrys 23:28, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- About NJC, it is currently debated by many and currently no official source about them, as far as I know. Some speculation include that Destiny and Legend actually has NJC, however for political reasons, it is not included to the list. Other speculation is that SF and IJ use different design than Destiny and Legend (at least it is shown by need of using APU/Energy cable in Destiny and Legend while SF and IJ don't have such component which lead to speculation that SF and IJ use larger reactor while destiny using smaller but larger batteries/capacitor. Note that in Astray manga I read, that even Nuclear reactor replenish energy to battery). Though, I did believe on the second one.
-
-
-
- About VPS, I dunno, but it is safer to say PS as VPS is a PS form too. However, I believe it is VPS. Any source for this?Draconins 07:55, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

- Nothing from that is true, They retcooned everything abut Destiny's power issue in Special Edition and deleted that scene, Destiny can't run out of power.Astrys 23:41, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Weapons
Is it possible to add a section in any MS article from GSD that includes a picture for every weapon the MS got, It's just a question and If it could be I can help to get the all pictures for any Gundam from Destiny series? Astrys 9:35, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- Yes, I think it is possible. Actually it is better if all Gundam SEED's series also have such sections, if possible. Just think about layout and possibility of copyright infringement. You may need develop section for them. Draconins 02:15, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- Thank you for this, But I don't know if I can do it for all Seed series Gundams alone I will start it in Destiny's article as a try then the others, And please you may help me too since I don't know how to add a new section for an article could you tell me, And I want to ask the pictures that we will use will be from the series(how the MSes used the weapons in the series) or is it like the images on (www.mahq.net since there are pictures in this web from it)Astrys 23:32, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- Oh! and for the pictures that we must put it's not that easy what picture we will add for that Palma Fiocina from ep37 or others and what about the beam shield and the armor and about the armor in this article ( a small mobile armor) but I think that it's( a small mobile armor that can be extended into a bigger armor).Astrys 23:32, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New picture
Sorry for this edit, But I think that noone can see the weapons in the first picture, I know that my picture's quality is poor but it looks very nice as the all weapons are seen in it, It's my own made so I hope that anyone would agree to keep it, And sorry again.Astrys 00:22, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Variable Phase Shift
I'm pretty sure that Destiny and Legend both have Variable Phase Shift. I saw it on a model somewhere, but I can't seem to remember where. And it would make no sense if Destiny and Legend were both downgraded with regular Phase Shift while all the previous second stage Gundams had VPS. DarkWarrior 02:52, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Found the source, it says VPS on the Cosmic Region Destiny's box. There should be no issues now. DarkWarrior 16:18, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
