2CR FM ("Two Counties Radio") is an Independent Local Radio station broadcasting from Southcote Road in Bournemouth. Its name is derived from the fact that its broadcast area includes parts of the counties of Dorset and Hampshire.
Presenters Graham Mack (2CR FM's thirteenth Programme Controller) was one of the most recognised faces and voices of 2CR. He first joined the station in 1997, left in 1998 and returned in 2004. In spring 2006, following his second spell at the station, he left to work in the North of England for TFM. Graham Mack presented the breakfast show alongside Richie Firth who has continued to present the show on his own.
Shortly after Graham Mack left 2CR FM, another famous presenter of 10 years, Martyn Lee, left to be the Assistant Programme Director of the new regional competitor radio station Original 106. Original 106 is also the home of former 2CR FM presenter Tim Butcher who was present through much of the 1980s.
Other notable former presenters include Christian O'Connel (who now presents the breakfast show on Virgin Radio) and the UK's first Professor of Radio, Sean Street, who still teaches in the 2CR FM area at Bournemouth University.
