"4ever" was the debut single on the album The Secret Life Of... by The Veronicas, both released in the year 2005. It reached #2 on the Australian ARIAnet Singles Chart and peaked at #7 on the New Zealand RIANZ Singles Chart.
In the U.S., the single was promoted early in 2006 by Archie Comics through a mention in issue #167 of the group's namesake Veronica's comic, which featured a guest appearance and cover picture of The Veronicas and a card containing a code that could be used to download an MP3 version of the song free.
The song's music video won the award for best video of the year at the MTV Australia Video Music Awards. [1] In addition, it was featured in the Amanda Bynes comedy film She's the Man; the song is heard during the film itself and its advertisements, and is included in the official soundtrack.
The song has been noted as sounding very similar to P!nk's U + Ur Hand, the choruses in particular, which was released about one year after 4ever. Both songs were written by Luke Gottwald and Max Martin.

4ever featured two music videos as they thought different videos would suit different audiences in those countries better. The Australian/New Zealand music video version of 4ever contained The Veronicas breaking into a swimming centre and having a party with lots of other people. The American music video had The Veronicas singing in a hotel, hanging out in a bathroom writing on the mirror with lipstick and riding around in a car.
