Al-Ahbash is a religious sect and political party in Lebanon; alternative names are: The Ahbash, Habashis, al Habashiyyin, and Jam'iyyat al- Mashari' al-Khayriyya al-Islamiyya (in English, Association of Islamic Charitable Projects - AICP).
It follows the teachings of Shaykh Abdallah ibn Muhammad ibn Yusuf al-Hirari al-Shibi al- Abdari, also known as al-Habashi ("the Ethiopian" and cognate to Habesha), an interpretation of Islam combining elements of Sunni and Shi'a theology with Sufism. It advocates pluralism, and opposition to political activism and violence (its slogan is "the resounding voice of moderation"). It also promotes its beliefs internationally through a major Web presence and regional offices, notably in the United States.
It is highly controversial within Islamism for its religious stance (anti-Salafi, and with Sufi and other beliefs seen as heretical) and its political alliances (pro-Syria and conciliatory toward the West).

The A.I.C.P. is the "Resounding Voice of Moderation." This is the platform upon which we stand firm. The A.I.C.P. speaks and writes against those extremist groups who sponsor violence, terrorism, and the call for assassinations of government officials because they rule by secular law. These are foreign ideas contrary to the true teachings of Islam.
Islam is the Religion of Moderation, and "Moderation" is the motto of the A.I.C.P.
Membership: The members of the A.I.C.P. are quite diverse. They vary in national origin, ethnicity, education, social status, economic status, age, and gender. Our organization attracts people from virtually every walk of life.
A.I.C.P. members range from the highly educated—with various degrees and doctorates—to the lay people. Members of A.I.C.P. include executives, middle management, white and blue collar workers, doctors, dentists, educators, students, shopkeepers, artisans, and farmers.
Finances: Since its establishment, the A. I. C. P. has endeavored to achieve its goals and has attained its many accomplishments relying on Allah. The sole revenue has been the donations of its students and the benevolent contributions of its supporters.
The A.I.C.P. strives to teach Islam as well as the importance of functioning within society. Through its many endeavors, the A. I. C. P. contributes to the well-being of humanity without compromising the values and principles of Islam.
The A.I.C.P. sponsors secular and religious education. They have preschools, elementary schools, secondary schools, as well as weekend programs used as a springboard to full-time education. They have also a university Global University in Lebanon - Beirut.
The most important objective of the A. I. C. P. is to spread the correct knowledge of the Religion—teaching Muslims and non-Muslims about Islam—by spreading the Islamic Obligatory Knowledge and supporting it with clear evidence. Efforts are made to deliver this knowledge in as many languages as possible, and by Allah’s Will more international sites will be added in the near future.
