Amnon Linn

Amnon Linn was born in 30 March 1924 in Haifa. Both of his parents Chava and David (Dodia) Linn were part of the group of settlers who settled in Kibbutz Mishmar Haemek. Amnon Linn was a member of Hashomer Hatzair youth movement between 1940 and 1942 when he joined the Palmach and fought to take Haifa for Israel. Amnon Linn met his wife, Ruth Hushi, daughter of Abba Hushi in 1945, and married her in 1945. He has two sons - Shai and Ran, and one daughter - Orna. Amnon Linn was a member of Mapai between 1951 and 1969 and a Director of Arab Department of Mapai in the North of Israel between 1951 - 1965 and the national Director of Arab Department of Mapai between 1965 and 1969. Amnon Linn was also the coordinator of the Arab-Jewish Association in the of Israel in 1966. Amnon founded the “Movement for Haifa and the North” in 1977 and the “Le’Am” Party. He joined the Likud and elected to 6th Knesset. In 1982, along with most of the members of the “Movement for Haifa and the North”, he left the Likud and joined the Labor Party.

Tenth Knesset: Member of the Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee and the Internal Affairs and Environment Committee
Elevent Knesset: Chairman of the Subcommittee for the Civil Guard in Judea and Samaria and a member of the Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee, the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee and the Subcommittee for Lebanese Affairs.
