[edit] Early life
Anthony Begonia was born youngest of four pianists and had aspirations of becoming a comic book artist. From California, Anthony later lived in Colorado and came to Hollywood via Hawaii. Anthony studied film production, music, and broadcasting for a couple years in Hawaii, where he was also a jazz pianist and vocalist. His siblings performed in recitals, shows, dramas, and musicals as youth in every state they lived in. They wrote stories, produced plays, composed, and made films with a VHS video-camera as children. Anthony has had the opportunity to travel worldwide conducting workshops on drama, voice, and music.
On the islands, Anthony starred with Hawaii's most distinguished comedian Frank DeLima in the Hawaiian version of Scrooge, garnering much recognition under accomplished Hawaii local director Jim Hutchison. He was then introduced to another well known director Glenn Cannon to be a rehearsal pianist.

He began pursuing a research assignment, journaling accounts and discussing the behind the scenes life of film and theater productions. He decided to travel to Los Angeles to continue this book. Soon after, he appeared on the David E. Kelley Emmy nominated drama Boston Public among other credits and countless independent films.
He was welcomed by the critics in his Los Angeles debut as Miles Gloriosus in the East West Players, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum opposite veteran Gedde Watanabe under award-winning director Timothy Dang with a who's who cast of the finest Asian American stage performers nationwide. He received the nod from the Daily Variety, Los Angeles Times, Backstage West, and other respected media.
His portrayal of Bubnov in the controversial Russian classic The Lower Depths garnered him with an Irene Ryan Award nomination. He was honored to appear as Dr. Hata in Nagasaki Dust alongside acclaimed writer of the show W. Colin McKay under the direction of co-originator Jim Ishida.
Some highlights in his young research include working with Academy Award Winning director Rob Marshall on his second feature, with a Pan-Asian star studded cast led by cult icon Ziyi Zhang for the Steven Spielberg epic Memoirs of a Geisha (film). Among certain circles, he is known as the first Filipino Sumo or the Largest Filipino This Side Of The Hemisphere. He worked on the Emmy award-winning show Six Feet Under, portraying the son of respected veteran Amy Hill, performed one-liners poking fun at celebrities as Druku on the E! show 7 Deadly Hollywood Sins, as well as adding legendary comedian Tommy Chong to a list of brilliant performers he has shared the stage with.
Anthony currently produces, writes, develops, and composes his own works while working in film and television. With additional guest performing, speaking, musical and stage directing, Anthony is a faculty member at Vivace Conservatory of the Performing Arts, vivaceperformingarts.com, founded by Marie Matiko and collaborates with numerous independent filmmakers in his spare time. He develops creative projects for an international non-profit in Los Angeles as a part of his lifes work.
He most recently ventured to Seattle, Washington to research the auditioning process of the most popular reality show in the world, American Idol, to study and duplicate the cattle call process. After being asked to sing two complete songs at the first round of producers he was released from KeyArena. He did not meet judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, or Simon Cowell during research but did see many of the intersting types the show was looking to pass through for postponed ridicule.
