Area code 520
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
North American area code 520 is a state of Arizona telephone area code which was created in a split from area code 602 on March 19, 1995 for the rest of the state outside of the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area. 520 itself was split on June 23, 2001, creating area code 928, due mainly to population gains in Tucson, Yuma and Flagstaff.
Pima, Santa Cruz, Cochise, and most of Pinal County kept Area Code 520, while Yuma, La Paz, western Maricopa County, and everything north, including Flagstaff, switched to the new area code 928.
