Armen Alchian

Armen A. Alchian (born April 12, 1914 in Fresno, California) is the author of a number of works relating to Economics including the article "Uncertainty, Evolution and Economic Theory" (JPE, 1950).
He is also very well known for University Economics, a textbook which later became Exchange and Production.
He attended California State University, Fresno for two years before transferring to Stanford University in 1934, where he received his B.A. and Ph.D. He is a professor emeritus at UCLA, where he has been a faculty member since 1946.
