Arnold of Bergen

Arnold of Bergen (Norwegian: Arend d. 1434), was bishop of Bergen, Norway, and a non-ordained, shortlived Archbishop of Uppsala, Sweden.
When Olaus Laurentii in 1432 was elected by the Chapter to become Archbishop of Uppsala and Sweden, the king Eric of Pomerania expressed displeasure that he was not consulted in the election. In response, he decided that Arnold of Bergen would hold the office of Archbishop, starting 1433 while Olaus Laurentii was in Rome to be ordained. Arnold moved into the bishopseat in Uppsala, and this of course caused quarrels.
The quarrels were resolved when Arnold died in 1434. The king then decided to accept Olaus Laurentii as Archbishop after all.
