Art Van Damme

Art Van Damme (born April 9, 1920 in Norway, Michigan) is a jazz accordionist.
He began on accordion at age 9 and moved on to classical study when the family moved on to Chicago in 1934. In 1941 he joined Ben Bernie's band as an accordionist. He also tried to adapt Benny Goodman works to the accordion. From 1945 to 1960 he worked for NBC. He has toured Europe and was also popular with jazz listeners in Japan.[1]
He is married, has three children, and six grandchildren.
