[edit] A short profile
I'm an undergraduate from Hartford County, Connecticut. I was introduced to Wikipedia a few years ago by Timwi. Most of my early edits were related to local events and locations. I tend to come and go from Wikipedia for months at a time, and even though I'm one of the editors with a notable number of contributions to the project, I doubt most people have any idea of who I am. That doesn't bother me in the slightest.
I am a member of the Colbert Nation and am one of the Worst Persons in the World. I think your whole family is made of meat. I hate tomatoes.
[edit] Main editing interests
I don't spend a whole lot of time on Wikipedia, but when I am on, I'm usually working on articles related to:
- Women's colleges (my real passion)
- Lesser-known liberal arts colleges
- Junior colleges, especially closed ones
- Mostly anything related to Connecticut
I am effectively my own little WikiProject team when it comes to the articles on women's colleges. That does not just includes articles on the major present-day colleges, but also those that are closed or have since gone co-educational. I'm starting to branch out into international women's colleges now, so that's exciting. The amusing thing is, I don't actually attend a women's college, so this is a bit of a strange obsession to have, isn't it?
I also try to do a lot of disambiguating, style clean-up, and categorizing. I hate it when people capitalize things unnecessarily – Wikipedia Is Not Dave Barry – and I am a fan of the serial comma.
I recently signed up for the medieval WikiProject and hope to contribute some information on medieval languages and linguistics, medieval art and architecture, and maybe some minority groups of the period. I don't promise to get involved much, but I'll try. :)
In an exciting development, I got a Barnstar from SchuminWeb on May 20, 2006 for my clean-up of the article on the Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership, the only women's military college in the United States. Go me! All that random research of colleges is starting to pay off...kinda. :)
