Benjamin Guinness, 3rd Earl of Iveagh

Arthur Francis Benjamin Guinness, 3rd Earl of Iveagh, (May 20, 1937 - 1992), known as Benjamin was the son of Arthur Onslow Edward Guinness, Viscount Elveden and Elizabeth Cecilia Hare. He inherited the title in 1967. He was a member of the 13th Seanad, nominated by the Taoiseach, Liam T. Cosgrave. He lived at Farmleigh near Dublin and was chairman of Guinness 1961-1992. He was a trustee of two charitable housing associations, the Iveagh Trust in Dublin and the Guinness Trust in London.
He married Miranda Daphne Jane Smiley, daughter of Major Michael Smiley, of Castle Fraser, Kenmay, Aberdeen on March 12, 1963 and they divorced in 1984. They resided at Farmleigh, Dublin, Ireland.
The Earldom of Iveagh was created on September 30, 1919. The recipient, Edward Guinness, had previously been created Viscount Iveagh in 1905 and Baron Iveagh in 1891.
Benjamin's son, Edward Guinness, succeeded to the title.
