Black Rob
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Black Rob (Robert Ross) is a rapper currently signed to Bad Boy Entertainment. He began his recording career on albums like the Cru's Da Dirty 30 and working with artists like Lil Kim, Busta Rhymes, L.O.X, and Total before releasing his debut album Life Story on March 7,2000. The debut featured the hit single "Whoa!"
While Black Rob has seen success in his career, his personal life has unfortunately been tainted with a series of arrests from his childhood to even after the release of his debut album, Life Story.
After a period of collaborations with various Hip Hop artists, which earned him a short lived media buzz, he captured the music world's attention with the smash hit "Whoa!," from his debut album. Unable to follow up with another hit record, he slowly fell back into obscurity. While Life Story rose above platinum status, his second album, Black Rob Report failed to perform strongly and quickly disappeared from the Billboard 100 charts.
Robert Ross was recently sentenced to seven years in prison for failing to show up to court for a hearing concerning his grand larceny charge from 2004, in which he was accused of robbing more than $6,000 worth of jewely from a woman's hotel room. His accomplice in this was Adeel Ahmad, a fellow Ruff Ryders member.
