Bruce Rogers

Bruce Rogers (May 14, 1870 - May 18, 1957) was an American typographer born in Lafayette, Indiana. He is one of the best known and regarded typographers of the 20th century. He was a member of the Typophiles. Rogers designed more than 400 books. He is perhaps best known for his masterpiece, the Oxford Lectern Bible.
Rogers recieved a B.S. from Purdue University in 1890. At Purdue, he worked with political cartoonist John T. McCutcheon on the student newspaper and yearbook.
Rogers died on May 18, 1957 in New Fairfield, Connecticut. His papers are in the collection of the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
